The Club was founded in October 1971 as the Midland Veterans Athletic Club. The name was changed to the Midland Masters Athletic Club in 2006 to fall in line with modern day thinking on sports terminology.

We publish a Newsletter 5 times a year and members also receive a copy of the BMAF’s magazine “Masters Athletics”.

To view past copies of our Newsletter, please visit the appropriate year pages and click on the edition you want to read.

We are indebted to Officers of the Club both past and present who had the foresight to keep hard copies of the Newsletter thus preserving such material for future generations who may chronicle the history of our Club… “Saving Today’s History, For Tomorrow’s Generations”… namely, Mike Wrenn; Colin Simpson; Ken Westley and George Phipps.

Thanks must also go to Chris Holloway, the Tipton Harriers archivist, who undertook to scan all the copies obtained from Mike Wrenn and Mark Eccleston (Special Collections Library at the University of Birmingham).
